This year's CEU Topics include:

Case Studies: Reality vs Regulations Sponsored by Encompass of Vineland

Participants will learn how the letter of the law intersects with practice in a healthcare setting. Actual practice in a healthcare setting can differ from what the law states and participants will learn important legislation outlines for healthcare practitioners and how those should be implemented. Participants will learn what duties are owed to patients and residents in a healthcare setting and the requirements imposed by statute so that participants may avoid running afoul of any requirements set forth.

Goals/objectives -explain important legislation outlines for healthcare practitioners and how those should be implemented; explain what duties are owed to patients and residents in a healthcare setting; define incapacity and the rest of incapacity

Aging in the 21st Century: Overcoming Challenges for the Modern Family Sponsored by Centers Healthcare

Healthcare professionals are being challenged with meeting the needs of a rapidly growing elderly population. Patients are living longer with more complex issues and less familial support. Healthcare professionals often find themselves navigating the complex dynamic of a blended family or cobbling together resources for an elder orphan.

Goals/objectives -explore planning options for blended families; identify guidelines for managing decision making when there is sibling conflict; explain options for elders and solo agers who have no family or friends; explain options for long distant caregivers; explain options for LGBTQ seniors

Topics are presented by Bratton Law.
