Brigitta Faragasso NICHOLAS F. TALVACCHIA has significant experience in redevelopment projects, land use matters, and real estate development projects. Nick concentrates on large-scale land use and zoning, real estate development, and real estate transactions as well as environmental law. Nick assists his clients in obtaining redevelopment approvals and tax incentives with the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (EDA) and the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA). Nick served as counsel to the developer of a $2.3 billion redevelopment project on the beach in Atlantic City. He and his team led the developer through the drafting and adoption of the redevelopment plan, CAFRA (Coastal Area Facility Review Act) approval, and various other New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection approvals, site plan approval, along with other municipal and state approvals required for the project. He has worked with the State of New Jersey Pinelands Commission, guiding clients through the permitting approval process for properties in the New Jersey Pinelands. He obtained a Green Acres major diversion of parkland from the State House Commission for a portion of the beach in Atlantic City. He also has obtained permits for alternative energy projects, including a substantial solar farm and worked on an offshore wind farm project. Substantial expansion of a non-conforming electrical substation. Approvals include: • $38.4 million in Economic Redevelopment and Growth (ERG) incentives for an entertainment complex • $33 million in Grow New Jersey tax credits for a call center • $261 million tax incentives for a resort hotel • $5.2 million tax incentives for restaurant/retail complex • $4.8 million tax incentives for a retail and health club facility REBECCA C. LAFFERTY is based in the firm’s Atlantic City office and focuses her practice on all aspects of land use issues, including commercial development, redevelopment, zoning and planning, real estate and litigation. Prior to joining the Cooper Levenson law firm, Rebecca worked doing civil litigation of various types for five years. In 2010, Rebecca began working with various governmental entities, serving as assistant counsel and solicitor for various governmental entities, including the Township of Hamilton as well the Hamilton Township Municipal Utilities Authority. She currently serves as Solicitor to the Township of Hamilton Zoning Board of Adjustment (2014- present); Solicitor to the Weymouth Township Land Use Board (2011 - present); Assistant Solicitor to the Hamilton Township Municipal Utilities Authority (2011 – present); and Assistant Solicitor to the Atlantic County Improvement Authority (2014-present). She also previously served as Solicitor to the City of Somers Point Zoning Board of Adjustment (2014- 2015) and Assistant Solicitor to the City of Somers Point (2018-2019). Additionally, Rebecca has experience in commercial litigation where she has been involved in representing automobile manufacturers in franchise litigation.
