“What do I want to be when I grow up?” It’s not too early to start exploring! Naval Air Station Wildwood (NASW) Aviation Museum’s Explorers Summer Academy will utilize the same professional staff and similar agenda from our ACE Academy to motivate young students to start thinking about the future…NOW! Activities for this one week camp will stress the importance of a strong background in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) skills. This is a fun, hands-on educational experience for our students to EXPLORE real world careers.
Samples of past activities include:
– “Play day on the Runway!” (Actually an airport operations safety presentation)
– Tour Aviation Museum & United States Coast Guard Training Center Cape May
– Learn-through-play activities at Hangar #1
– Cape May/Lewes Ferry Operations (what does it take to run this place!?)See real aircraft up close. Sit in the cockpit, talk to pilots, crew members
and engineers about their careers. Plus much more
** While programming may vary slightly from year to year and is subject to change, the general itinerary and subject matter are consistent with previous years.**
